As we approach the Lunar New Year I would like to reflect on my childhood memories of being a Vietnamese American. I’ll be taking a break from the everyday fashion tidbit to bring to you the quintessential collection of Vietnamese American new wave music. The twist? These are the tracks from the original artists.
Growing up in the ’80’s, New Wave and Retro were always
playing around the house and in the cars of Aunts, Uncles,
cousins and many older friends. Then there was Paris By
Night singers who translated many of these songs into
Vietnamese and made these songs even more popular.
These songs created a Vietnamese craze and style that
consisted of crazy hair dos, colorful clothing and lots of
Aqua Net hair spray!

this season seems to be a reiteration of last and remains quite simple. however, some would argue that less is more. i am sweatin’ that high society crew neck like no other just too bad im strapped for cash right now.
